When are the worship services?

There is a community Sunrise Service at 7:00 AM on Easter morning at Hewitt Park.
Christmas Eve Candlelight Service is held at 6 PM on December 24.

How Do I Join Hewitt First United Methodist Church?
- First, talk with the pastor about your desire to unite with this congregation.
- Then simply fill out a "Communication Card" found at the end of each pew in the sanctuary. Check that you want to join the church. If you're not sure about an answer, don't worry about filling in the blanks.
- Bring it forward at the end of any worship service as we sing the closing hymn, or
- Bring it to the Pastor in the back of the sanctuary as you leave the service, or
- Call the Church Office at 666-2500.
Some Commonly Asked Questions About Church Membership
- What if I've never been an official member of a church?
No problem. Your membership will be considered a Profession of Faith. If you have not yet been baptized, we will set up a baptism for you during a worship service. Please talk with the pastor before making this decision to be baptized and/or to become a member of the church.
If you have ever been baptized as a child, youth or adult, in any denomination, it counts here! If you have not been baptized, you will enjoy a brief five minutes time with one of the pastors where a small amount of water will be placed on your head. This happens during a worship service.
- What if I was previously a member of another church, but it was a long time ago?
If you are able to provide us with a church name and location, we will let your previous church know that you have joined Hewitt FUMC. It is not unusual for churches to "clean up" their rolls after a period of time and not have a record of a person's membership. This happens frequently and is not a problem.
- Does it matter if my previous church was something other than Methodist?
No way! If you are interested in learning more about the Methodist Church, then contact the Pastor, who will be glad to supply you with resources or provide for a personal time of instruction.
